 ginally the home of Frank and Anne Cabot\, Stonecrop became a public gar
 den in 1992 under the direction of Caroline Burgess. Frank Cabot is also
  the founder of the Garden Conservancy. The display gardens cover an are
 a of about twelve acres and incorporate a diverse collection of gardens 
 and plants including woodland and water gardens\, a grass garden\, raise
 d alpine stone beds\, a cliff rock garden\, perennial beds\, and an encl
 osed English-style flower garden. Additional features include a conserva
 tory\, display alpine house\, pit house with an extensive collection of 
 choice dwarf bulbs\, and systematic order beds representing over fifty p
 lant families.\n\nOpen Days garden tours are self-guided and flexible. Y
